Even though certain plugins show "disabled" on the Add-ons Manager list, can they be deleted completely from the list?

After downloading RealPlayer to view a particular item, I decided that I did not want RealPlayer after all. 5 plugins associated with the download are listed in the Add-ons Manager and I was successful in disabling all of them. But, there is no apparent facility for deleting them from my browser. Can they in fact be deleted completely from my system?

You need to enable the plugins on the Tools > Add-ons > Plugins page to make them show up on the about:plugins page.

Plugins always need to be removed from within the program that installed them or you need to remove them yourself.

If you mean the "RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin" extension then you can disable/remove the "RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin" extension in the RealPlayer Preferences (RealPlayer: Tools > Preferences > Download & Recording)

You can see the installed plugins on the about:plugins page.

You can set the plugin.expose_full_path pref to true on the about:config page to see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page.

It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.

I followed the suggestions given and did NOT see the 5 plugins listed on the about:plugins page, although they are still showing up on the Add-ons Manager page. I take it that, as long as I leave them in "disabled" mode, they aren't getting in the way and the problem is solved. Thank you.
