quite often I can't reload current page
I purchased a new computer about a month ago, and I've noticed pretty consistently when I try to reload the current page, I have to hit the reload button numerous times for the page to reload. Eventually the page does reload, but in the past with my old computer this was never a problem, just hit the reload button and the page very quickly was reloaded. Any reason as to why this is happening now with firefox 15, the version I'm now using with my new computer? Thank you.

Try the Firefox Safe Mode to see how it works there. The Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
- You can open the Firefox 4.0+ Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- Or use the Help menu item and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in Safe Mode." To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shift key) to open it again. If it is good in the Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.
Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Edmeister and cor-el, while I'm not entirely sure, it appears running in safe mode has solved the problem. Give me more time to make sure this is helping, I don't want to go down the wrong road here, or give bad feedback also. I'll get back to both of you when I'm sure about running in safe mode, if it's helping or not.
The security software is Microsoft security essentials, and it was installed by HP when I purchase the new computer. HP removed the Norton system, and installed the free Microsoft system. Don't know cor-el if that is an issue. But first I'll see what running in safe mode does to for the problem. Again, I'll get back to you both when I can see for certain about reloading a page with safe mode running. Thank you.
If it does work in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

cor-el,
Frankly, at his time I'm not sure if running in safe mode is helping or not. I've experimented with the extensions, and being I only have 1, and that didn't make any difference in this situation, as also it seems possibly running without add-ons also didn't possibly help? Possibly, the page's I'm trying to reload, which are financial charts, are possibly the culprit them self's? Maybe, they just can't be reloaded quickly? But, I believe with my old computer, I was able to reload those financial charts on MSN and Yahoo, very quickly. Again, just not sure, and also, I don't want to chase my tail here, and have you also chasing your tail trying to help. It just seems I should be able to reload these pages much quicker than I currently can, and I thought I was able to before. Maybe cor-el, you could possibly try to replicate my issue? Simply go to either MSN or Yahoo finance and bring up a investment chart---your choice, just pick an investment symbol and go with it. Or, simply plug in either the investment symbols UVXY or SVXY on MSN's financial web site, and you try to reload those pages and see what you get for reload performance? I guess when it's all said and done, that may be the best way to determine if I'm in fact having an issue with firefox reloading a specific page, or it is MSN's issue? Please give it a whirl cor-el, and let me know what you come up with. Thank you.
cor-el, edmiester. Actually, it appears the best I can tell, it makes no difference whether I'm in safe mode or not, as to whether I can reliably reload a page quickly. Whether I'm in regular mode or safe mode I still have to repeatedly click the reload button before something happens. Eventually, the page will reload, but it isn't uncommon for me to have to click the reload button 6-8 times before the page will reload. I don't remember this be the case with my old computer. Whats going on? Any suggestions? Thank you.

ideato,
Being what I'm doing isn't solving the problem, I'll try what you suggest ideato. I will get back to you after I try your suggestion. Thank you.
ideato,
I spent several minutes experimenting with using F5. And, frankly, much to my surprise your suggestion ended up being a solution! Why someone else didn't come up with this simple suggestion sooner? Really don't know the technical reason as to why it works, but it does. Not only does it seem to work every time, it does so immediately, they way I sort of thought it should to begin with. Again, thank you for your help and concern with my problem ideato. I do appreciate the time you spent helping. Just sort of surprised at the simpleness of it. Thank you!
