My fire ftp account is not showing the local files anymore. All I can see is the files on the server. I can't seem to get back to the standard two window format with local files on left and remote files on right. How do I get it back to original settings?

I'm not sure where those settings are stored, but before digging in the files or uninstalling/reinstalling, can you see the thin "grippies" on the vertical borders? You should be able to restore the layout by clicking and/or dragging those grippies to re-open the missing panes.

You can check the fireftp prefs on the about:config page.

It look as though the widths of the local and remote directories are stored in localstore.rdf, which cor-el had mentioned as a second possibility. My file has these:

 <RDF:Description RDF:about="chrome://fireftp/content/fireftp.xul#localtype"
                  sortDirection="natural"
                  ordinal="5"
                  width="117" />
 <RDF:Description RDF:about="chrome://fireftp/content/fireftp.xul#remotesize"
                  ordinal="3"
                  sortDirection="natural"
                  width="114" />

It's a bit risky to edit the file; usually it's easier to rename or delete it, which reverts toolbar and window configurations to their defaults. To do that:

Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using

Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button

Switch back to Firefox and Exit

Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename localstore.rdf to something like localstore.old

Restart Firefox. Hopefully now FireFTP will look like new. (Note that your FTP site information and logins are stored in other files, so this won't clear that.)

After using Reset, a folder is stored on the desktop with old settings. I recommend retaining that folder for a couple of weeks because it may take time to discover missing settings that you would like to rescue.

type on your adress bar about:config search for fireftp change fireftp.interfacemode to 0

drag and resize pans to the center potition if any pan is missing or small

Hi prototype-23, the default value for that preference is 0. What does setting it to 4 do?

Yes you are right. my mistake

When i came i across the problem i started changing values from 1.On 4 the problem was fixed...

But as i see now it has an internal check and fixes a value >3 to 0.
