Dear Sir, dear Madame, I have been using the DeepL Pro web translator for a few months now, and it worked without any problems for the first few weeks! But from one day to the next it crashed regularly and often. and it was impossible to work with it. The DeepL support team tried very hard, but they couldn't find any errors! However, they did point out that another application might be interfering. That's when I thought about all the Firefox updates. Could it be that one of the updates loaded something that DeepL doesn't like? It's just a guess, but no one could give me other explanation!

So I ask you to check if this assumption is true! You are my last resort! Best regards, Peter Prokesch

How do you get your files saved as html and not htm someone said they found a file of /etc/mime.types

and had to change htm html shtml to

html htm shtml in order for wep pages to be now saved as html

the mimetypes assoication is found in mimetypes.rdf which is now apparently handlers.json

i cant find however htm html shtml so i can change it

another link also said this can be found through firefox, tools, options

but i dont see options after selecting tools

I click the Share Data button, and instead I get a complaint every time, that "We can't automatically get your browser's troubleshooting data, please try these manual steps." I ain't falling for that no more, every time I click that manual steps thing, it blanks out everything I already typed, and when I come back I have to start over!

Anyway, how do I get that complaint to go away, and the details to appear in the Troubleshoot Information box like they ought to?

Currently on the latest version. Either this version or a version before seems to have broken a functionality that's been there for years. With the search bar, you can have it empty, and select a search option, say, Youtube, and it'll open up YouTube. If you have a search term in the search window, obviously it'll open youtube in the search page with those search terms. I've used this for years and years to quickly go to pages such as YouTube, Amazon, etc, without having to have a separate bookmark.

Now, if you have the search bar empty and click on YouTube, or Amazon, or any other installed search option, it doesn't default open that page. It only opens when you have something typed into this.

Idk if this is a "feature update" or bug, but it's worked the same way for years, and now no longer does.

I'm new here so please bear with me if I've posted in the wrong place or have missed something obvious.

I running Windows 10, fully updated, on a laptop. I have been using Firefox browser now for many years, suits my needs and avoid's using Goolges Chrome. My Firefox was updated a in the last few days and it shows as up to date on Version 129.0.1 64bit.

I noticed late last night that when opening a fresh window and enter a search term in either the address bar or the Google search bar, my usual choice of search engine, I hit return and nothing happens. Any text I've input disappears totally. Not at all sure what's going on but have found that if I open a new private window Firefow will act as I'd expect without any issues.

I have two other browsers on my laptop, Edge and also Avast's own offering which both work as expected when I enter a search term. Have never experienced this before with the exception of years ago when malware protection wasn't great. It almost seems as though something is just stopping Firefox from searching anything I enter. I can use the bookmarks just fine and then everything works as usual.

Yesterday I thought that maybe following the new windows culmulative updates I was offered and apparently installed just fine, that I needed to restart which a tried and I thought it had cured the issue. Seems that it hasn't and still having the same issue.

Any idea's or thought's on what the cause of this is?

Everything worked great until the morning of August 18. I cannot receive or send email. I have tried contacting Yahoo who will not help me unless I subscribe to their Premium Technology package. I would really like to talk with someone from Thunderbird but have not found any help. HELP I cannot receive or send email

Everytime I restart my PC (Win 11) Firefox updates, even when there's no updates to install. At the same time It loses all personalization on menus and browser preferences. It retains extensions, bookmarks and passwords, but the rest is always gone. I reinstalled, refreshed, deleted everything and everytime I try to reinstall, it happens ALL over again. Can anyone help me?

The "previous page" functionality was fixed with the last update (8/??/24); but a new bug has presented.

If I had a tab with the homepage, if I leave that tab and return to it, the home page with its 16 shortcuts is gone, and all that appears is a blank, grey page-- and nothing is clickable on that blank page. So I have to delete the non-functioning home-page and create a new one.

There was no option to classify this post as a bug report.

My firefox frequently, several times a week, locks it configuration information and that of the add ins. One of the symptoms of this is a number of sites will not let me enter passwords. I also use "Update Scanner" add-in and when the sites that I am monitoring do not show up in the sidebar, I know that it has happened again.

The only way that I have found to fix it, other than a clean install after deleting all vestiges of of it on the computer and registry etc. Is to Enter Troubleshoot Mode and then use the options to Refresh, and Refresh again. I then have to configure everything else from the settings page and the configure toolbar.

I have started up in troubleshoot mode, removed all addins, done clean installs, Yet I still have the problem. I am sure that the problem something with my computer setup. As I have other machines that do not have this problem.

I would like to get some guidance of ways to figure this out.

Version 128.0.3 (64-bit) What’s new Mozilla Firefox for Linux Mint

When I visit a page which contains a Google Doc spreadsheet or try to open a Google Spreadsheet the page often fails to render properly and what I see is my desktop background instead of the Google doc element or Google doc sheet. Please see attached. This has been happening for ages and I resorted back to Chrome for such pages but now I'd like to see if it can be resolved.

Can still see content in emails that are in other folders, seems to be only inbox that will not show content of the emails

New emails arriving will show content as well as some old old emails in inbox

I am not the one using Firefox for iOS; my sister is. I am not looking for an actual fix at this point, I just want to know if anyone else is having the problem.

My sister was having no problem logging into Chase with her 8th gen iPad until about a week ago (my apologies, I don't know the exact day). She tried to log in, and the Web site took her to the system requirements page.

The weird thing is, her system was fine according to their list. But she updated to the latest iOS (18-something) and then the latest Firefox for iOS 129.0.1 (she doesn't like .0 versions and always waits for .0.1).

She got the same error.

Chase insists that the problem is hers. Personally, I don't trust a corporation that big farther than I can throw their combined offices on the planet. Is anyone else getting this problem?

Again, I am not looking for a fix at the moment, just looking to find out if the problem really is in her set.

In attempting to address inbox message duplication in Thunderbird (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1453812#answer-1666737), I've been systematically deleting thousands of old emails from my inbox, followed by a folder compacting.

Now, many of the remaining messages are unreadable. Most appear to be blank /empty, while some appear as gibberish text. I've tried repairing the folder using the tool in Folder Properties. That may have made the problem worse.

Strangely, I can't figure out how to add to someone else's post if it doesn't already have replies so I'm having to start my own thread. Anyway...

Thunderbird on my system is 32-bit on 32-bit Windows and a day or two ago it updated itself to version 115.10.1. Since then it's been slow at sending emails, receiving emails, applying filters and pretty much everything else. Is this being worked on? I saw a couple of similar reports from other people here but like I said, I can't add a reply to them.

And if it's not known about or being worked on, is there some way I can roll back an update?
