I have used T-Bird for years. I have two email accounts set up, both addresses are @sbcglobal.net. No changes to the accounts have been made. All of a sudden the one account will no longer download the emails into Thunderbird, and I get the error message in the "question" above. AT&T tech support is no help at all, so I am here for help.

Thank you for your assistance. I went to webmail, and started deleting the emails that I had marked as spam and others that I didn't want to keep, and it seemed that the problem was repaired all of a sudden. I don't know exactly how, but in reading the info from Mery's response, I think I maybe did kind of do what I found in the numerous responses he had linked me to.
