Can you please add a Release Notes item to the Firefox Help menu?

In Thunderbird it is sooooo easy to find Release Notes -- just go to the Help menu and click on the Release Notes item. Please (please!) add the same to Firefox -- it is almost impossible to find the Release Notes online. And so, please also add an obvious link to Release Notes on the Firefox website. Many thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion.

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.

On www.mozilla.org the Release Notes link is the What’s New link below the FREE DOWNLOAD box.

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/43.0.1/releasenotes/

Though the 43.0.1 update does not have anything listed currently so https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/43.0/releasenotes/

An easy way to find the Firefox release notes from the Help menu: Click on "Firefox Help", which goes to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/firefox?as=u&utm_source=inproduct Underneath the green "Firefox Free Download" box on that page, there's a "What's New" link that goes to http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/notes (that link always redirects to the current Firefox version release notes).

For some background, the Firefox release notes used to be linked in the Firefox Help menu but that was removed back in January 2011 - see: Bug 607234 - Remove "Release Notes" from the Help menu (Please read Bugzilla Etiquette before commenting in bug reports)

Two of the above replies refer to the "What's New" link below the Free Download button. There is currently no such link.

I too find it very annoying that I can't easily find the release notes. I can read them when an update is offered, but if I want to go back later to recheck something, I don't know where to find them.

Where are you looking?

on www.mozilla.org with the mouse cursor hover over the green Download Firefox box and you should see the text What’s New under the free Download button as it is the https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/notes/ link which leads to the current version Release Notes.

Been this way for a long time.

If you visit https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/ with the current version of Firefox and get the "Congrats! You’re using the latest version of Firefox." message, then you don't see the green button. I'm not sure of the most logical place to suggest adding a link to the release notes in that case...

James: Thanks for that information. The link is there, right where you said. But I didn't see it earlier because it only appears when you hover over the "Download Firefox" panel. I didn't want to download Firefox so I didn't put my mouse there. It seems very strange to put links in places that only appear when you hover over another service that you may not want at the time.

For the record, a "What's new" link to the release notes was added to the "About Firefox" window (accessible from the Firefox/Help menu) starting in Firefox 46. For the background, see: Bug 1047395 - Add "What's new?" menuitem to the about dialog
