Firefox freezes the Mac - a kernel panic in Mavericks?

Hi, I am encountering quite often a very inconvenient crash with Firefox (28, 27, 26) and Mavericks.

From time to time, when using Firefox, the Mac freezes completely, nothing respond anymore, mouse keyboard, nothing and I am obliged to hard-reset and restart.

I have of course done the usual troubleshooting, restarting in safe mode, reinstalling from scratch, reset the browser. Still, from time to time, everything hangs, even with all extensions disabled and in safe mode.

Two additional piece of information -

if I ask about:crashes there are no reports.

however - if I look at the console the following report appears after each freeze:

24/03/14 01:54:53,370 ReportPanic[278]: ReportPanic could not stat /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/Sleep Wake Failure_2014-01-19-205939_MacBook-Air-di-xxx.diag

no other detail is given

Seems an OSX issue but again, it only happens when interacting with firefox (scrolling a web page often, if not always).

Any help or suggestion?

Thanks a lot!

Hello.Sorry for the crash. As you asked , the panic in kernal is mostly common. The firefox issues of loading a lot of addons could use a lot of threads and weakens CPU perfs. It results in Temperature Rise too. The problem now you are facing is not the crashing problems. It's the cache and Junk files that make that errors. You have the SleepWake Failure which in instant , restart your Mac randomly and booting it up again. It generates diagnostics logs in the /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ in your drive. The logs are like the following.. "

Date/Time: 2014-01-25 03:40:41 +0100

OS Version: 10.9.1 (Build 13B3116) Archi: x86_64 Report Ver: 18

Event: Sleep Wake Failure Steps: 50

Hardware model: MacBookAir11,1 Active cpus: 4

Powerstats for: [...]

""

As you can see this is the log is generated in your mac not in Mozilla. If it is rebooted the Ker: debug logs can be captured like this....

Now after the diags , you can see on the last line , that the kernal saved the logs to the " /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/".The problem you are having in your Mac is similar to this and presuming your error message your Mac can't save the logs file to the directory that it should be saved. To resolve this I suggest cleaning up your Mac using a lot of cleaning tools freely available or google it.

I recommend using https://www.piriform.com/mac/ccleaner . And there is no confirmatory fix and bug update patches still available for this error. Please reponse if my Solutions fix the errors. Thanks
