In Firefox, embedded video on my favourite news site plays preceding ads ok, but then only plays sound, not the vision from the following news clip. None of the suggested solutions I've found seem to relate to this particular issue. However the same embedded video plays fine when using Chrome and Edge. Whilst this isn't a 'deal breaker', it is rather annoying. In other respects I much prefer Firefox and don't want to change.

What type of player is used? Flash, HTML5 . . . . . Right-click in the player area.

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
