About 2 weeks ago my laptop suddenly stropped charging. I deleted Firefox to free up some space on the hard drive and the laptop started charging. I used Microsoft Edge but it is atrocious. So reloaded Firefox and the laptop stopped charging one again.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Let the browser sit for a while doing nothing. Is the problem still there?

I reloaded Firefox onto my laptop and started it in safe mode and left it sitting for 20 minutes, plugged in the charger and it showed connected but not charging.

This is very odd. Firefox should not cause such a problem. Did you have this problem before the current version?

It may not be Firefox causing this, perhaps it was just a coincidence. I deleted Firefox, rebooted the laptop but it is still not charging. I've tried deleting the battery bits from control panel and they reappeared when i rebooted.

This sounds more like laptop issue then a Browser issue. The Browser has no controls over battery power issues that is either bad battery or bad charger or the O/S is corrupted and can't maintain proper power to the battery. And most likely requires computer shop to diagnosis this problem.

I agree.
