every email I receive goes straight into the junk folder. this started months ago and I couldnt resolve it. even went to the trouble of uninstalling thunderbird and reinstalling but problem remains. stopped using thunderbird but decided to give it another go and still all incoming emails go to the junk folder

even when I transfer all my emails out of junk into the inbox they almost immediately go back in the junk folder. I'm guessing its a setting problem but I havent been able to fix

Hi sdilks,

First, If you have more than a single mail account, are messages from all accounts going to junk folder?

Are you using any Anti-spam software? If so try temporarily disabling it.

Check the settings of each account to see if you enabled adaptive junk mail controls. Account Settings --> Junk Settings (See attached image)

Have you previously set Options --> Security --> Junk -- Enable Adaptive Junk filter logging On that screen there is a button to Reset Training Data - Pressing it will delete all adaptive junk filtering and start fresh.

I ended up going to tools - message filters and made a change there (not sure exactly) and now works as should

Glad that worked for you.

Here is more information on setting message filters:

There is a bug here, also. I cannot clean log. Pressing 'clean' button has no effect.

If you still have this problem: 1. check tools > error console after attempting "clean" for a related log entry 2. find your thunderbird profile and delete junklog.html (that recently helped one user)
