The Messenger page loads partially and stops. Same page works fine in New Microsoft Edge (Chromium). Problem seemed to start with last upgrade to 90.0.2. https://www.facebook.com/messages/t/1234... I tried disabling uBlock Origin, Privacy Possum, Privacy badger, page still won't load completely, just partially and "locks up".

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

I'm not sure why, but entering Troubleshooting mode cleared the issue, and with a return to "Normal" mode the issue is gone. I'm a little bewildered why this worked, but am thankful it did work. New MS Edge based on Chromium is wonderful, but Firefox is better with good design for privacy protection. Happy to be able to return to Firefox with Sync and KeePassXC.

Thank You!

Glad to help. Safe Surfing.

It could have been a corrupt file that was removed.

I am having similar problem with Firefox simply stalling (with the spinning icon) while "loading" tabs (office365 email, aol, multiple others, all of which load fine with Brave). Clearing the Firefox cache had no effect.

adadoffive Have you tried the above?

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}

Fred McD, Between the two processes: checking Firewall, then going in and out of troubleshooting mode, the system now works. Many thanks!
