I wish to install and use the Firefox browser on my old 64bit Windows 7 laptop.

I believe the last v115 will be the last Windows 7 compatible version of Firefox, if this is correct where can I find this or the correct version of Firefox to download and install on my Windows 7 laptop?

The Firefox website only seems to provide v119 now.

Thanks, Graham

Please use Firefox 115 ESR to get latest security updates. Your normal 115 should be able to update to 115 ESR.

You are correct that Firefox 115 is the last version of Firefox that is officially supported on Windows 7. Here's how you can do it: 1. Visit the Mozilla FTP server for Firefox: ... 2. Look for the "115.0" folder. Inside that folder, you will find subfolders for various operating systems. ...

You are partially correct however it is not the Firefox 115.0 Release but the 115.0 ESR that is the latest to still support Windows 7, 8, 8.1 users. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-users-windows-7-8-and-81-moving-extended-support

Also so the person gets the latest Fx 115 ESR version they should go to https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/#product-desktop-esr which will serve them the latest Fx 115 ESR which is currently Fx 115.4.0esr

Btw the Firefox 115.0.3 for security/stability fixes was the last of the 115 Release.

ESR is short for Extended Support Release. Normally the ESR channels is meant more for Enterprise users in mind as they prefer to have longer term stability. However since Fx 116.0 and later dropped support for the EOL Windows 7, 8, 8.1, the Firefox 115 ESR is a way for these Windows users to still get security/stability fixes until Fx 115.15.0esr planned in September 2024.

To download the current Firefox 115 ESR in the language and OS of your choice, you can go to https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/#product-desktop-esr

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-users-windows-7-8-and-81-moving-extended-support

Other major web browsers like Chromium, Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave have already completely dropped support for the EOL Windows 7, 8, 8.1 back in January/February this year.
