The site has a Hyperlink to enable an e-mail reply. When opening the site in IE, the hyperlink is recognised, but Firefox does not recognise the hyperlink. Neither does Chrome!!

Yep, that happens a lot when the webpages are built using Microsoft Office coding, which used coding particular to early versions of Internet Explorer.

That web page is a MS Office document that still has some VML code that only works in IE and not in other browsers.

You can inspect the page code here:

  • Firefox > Web Developer > Page Source
  • Tools > Web Developer > Page Source (Ctrl+U)
  • right-click on a web page to open the context menu and select View Page Source
