Why doesn't my Bookmarks Toolbar appear in the menu bar, even though I have checked "View Bookmarks Toolbar"? It appears only as a sidebar, which I don't like and don't know why it changed.
It was working fine until last night. As far as I know I didn't do anything to change it--all I did was change my preferences to "restore previous session" when closing Firefox. There is still a space up top for the bookmarks toolbar (now empty), and the correct bookmarks still appear under my Bookmarks menu, but I can't drag the icons to the space where the toolbar menu used to appear. The Bookmarks Toolbar appears only in the sidebar now. How do I get it back up top?

Check that you still have the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar.
Make sure that all the toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
- Check in "View > Toolbars > Customize" that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
- If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the Customize window onto the Bookmarks Toolbar
- If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" or other items that are missing in the toolbar palette or on a toolbar then click the "Restore Default Set" button
