Problem started when Firefox would not load after being a sleep. Downloaded new Firefox through Explorer, still wouldn't load. Went to Action Center and authorized Mozilla. Still wouldn't load, restarted desktop PC, still wouldn't load. Went to Mozilla support and verified user name (through e-mail), then changed password (through e-mail) - had to redo Yahoo password because Yahoo wouldn't recognize. Got to support page and submitted this problem. (Firefox still not loading.) Mozilla is listed in programs and in Action Center (Private). Windows Firewall and Norton Anti-virus used. I loaded Mozilla today, and last week with same problem so must be running latest version.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem
