How Do I Get My Old Version Back "The Way It Was"

more options

FF updated itself and was shocked at the absolutely awful, terrible, horrible changes that have been made. I learnt a lesson, dont ever tic auto update.

I want to go back to my Old Version, just the way it was. Tried a system restore and it made things worse, Ive lost all my bookmarks. How do I get back to my original configuration?

I posted another comment but the "Thought Police" are out in force, you mustn't be seen to be criticizing the, New, Shiny, better than ever, version. Which in my humble opinion goes against the principles that the "Old FireFox" was based on.

If there isnt a way to get the old firefox back, bookmarks and all, are there any other browsers (Non Mozilla, Google, Microsoft) out there that are worth changing to?

Hi,

Us "Thought Police" aren't getting anyone to stop criticizing Firefox 29. This forum, as mentioned by philipp in your other thread, is NOT meant for general discussion about anything besides technical support. Therefore it was closed.

There is a way you can go back to Firefox 28 depending on which route you take.

I recommend you try to adjust to 29 and see if you can't make it work for you before you downgrade to a less secure and soon outdated version of Firefox.

Here are a few suggestions for restoring the old design. I hope you’ll find one that works for you:

If you feel you can't handle 29 or customize it the way you want, I recommend you switch to an alternative browser like Pale Moon instead of staying on a outdated version of Firefox.

Pale Moon is firefox in a different set of cloths

If the old firefox is no longer supported or is totally insecure as you allege, I was looking for a recommendations for "New" browser which doesnt belong to the "Corporate Mainstream"

And as for the Thought Police just check home many post have been closed when they criticise the ChromeFox

They get closed because those threads plain simply don't belong here. We're not the developers, we're just volunteers. If you leave feedback here, we tell you where to post it and close it off. This isn't a battleground for ranting about Firefox back and forth, this site is for tech support and no ranting about Mozilla or Firefox.

You can use it if you want, but just be aware of the risks you're taking when you do use an outdated Firefox.

There are lots of options out there. Opera, Chrome, a couple of little-known well browsers such as Maxathon. Take your pick!

Why not fix the alleged "vulnerabilities" WITHOUT messing with the UI that people know and like? They are two totally separate things and should not need to be changed together.

Why not make greater efforts to improve Firefox WITHOUT constantly breaking add-ons and annoying the hell out of both users AND the add-on designers (who have done a huge amount to make Firefox popular in the first place).

Also, there is no point in suggesting people can switch to another browser when Firefox is changing to look more like those browsers anyway.

Andy_P,

You can provide Feedback to the Mozilla developers here: https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback

The people who provide support here are almost exclusively users just like you. We have no control over what Mozilla does other than "picking up our toys and finding a different playground".
