The error message is : " The messages could not be filtered to folder 'New User' because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again. "

Try excluding the Thunderbird's profile folder from "on access" scanning by your anti virus and see if that helps. I am guessing it is scanning the files and therefore Thunderbird can not have them causing a timing issue that is fatal to the filtering process.
