after I uninstalled Kaspersky Internet Security webpages stopped loading. I'm getting Unable to connect message. This issue affected 3 out of 4 browsers that I use. All browsers work in safe mode, but Safari is the only one that works in normal mode. IE Chrome, and Firefox will not work. I thought I need to make a fresh install of the browser to work. First I've tried to reset Firefox to to default settings - this didn't solve issue. Then I've cleaned all attributes via ccleaner: http://screencast.com/t/pOpgoO8c4Olf , then uninstalled FF, then downloaded and installed fresh copy. This didn't solve the issue either. So question: how do I install a truly fresh copy of the browser?

But before, try these;

Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select Network. Look for Configure How Firefox Connects and press the Settings button. Check the settings.

i don't have any internet security, firewall is disabled. There was nothing suspicious in firefox settings. Besides running ccleaner and clearing all firefox attributes, I also searched and deleted every mention of "firefox" from registry before installing fresh copy. It didn't help - I still cannot access any websites.
