I have my yahoo.com email as my default/start up address when activating Firefox. Since I installed Firefox 35 on my Macbook Pro, it takes over 1 minute to load this screen. Moreover, it takes over 1 minute if I try to simply load the base page, yahoo.com. Suggestions are appreciated.

Hi xisthenew,

It could be that there are a large number of visit records to that site. Sometimes clearing the cache of the site and resetting the homepage can reset the performance of the page load.

Try this:

  1. Go to about:permissions
  2. search for all entries of yahoo
  3. Click "Forget this Site"
  4. Restart Firefox
  5. Reset your homepage by deleting the saved pages from Options > General > homepage
  6. And refresh the bookmarks by click on them in new windows.

I hope this helps.

Try to disable IPv6 (check for other possible causes as well).

I want to express gratitude to the answers. Ironically, the very next time I used the program, it worked as before. And it has worked with normal load times ever since.

So, on my end, it is resolved.

Thank you!
