The latest version of Yahoo's toolbar should at least partially work. I have just tried it myself. Please try to install the newest version of the Yahoo toolbar from the Yahoo site
and then post back to say how you get on
Sorry but as far as I know the Yahoo toolbar has been broken for a while now. The Yahoo toolbar will only work properly on old outdated and unsafe versions of Firefox. Yahoo are apparently aware of this and working on the issue
- see also /questions/1049017 .
The yahoo homepage probably has many feature that are present on the toolbar, and that could explain why Yahoo is not in any great rush to fix the toolbar. Google used to provide a toolbar a few years ago, but dropped it because it did not really provide anything a modern browser could not do.
The latest version of the toolbar should be available from
I have just checked that out. It installs and seems to work for me. Although I believe it has some faults, the current version is apparently dated 26th Feb 2015. You will get warnings about the site being unsafe, but that is a glitch with the Firefox process for adding extensions, and in this instance it is ok to accept the warnings.

thanks BUT. i have gotten a message that says that that there is a connection failure to that address. and i have tried over50 times. can not seem to get to the yahoo download page. EVERY attempt gets that same connection failure message...
That link worked ok for me when I tried it earlier today.
Maybe they have updated the toolbar and the downloads are busy. Or maybe it is a problem on your own Firefox and clearing your cache and cookies will help.
- See Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can_firefox-cannot-load-certain-websites
- Click the menu button , choose [History]{Clock icon) and select Clear Recent History....
- In the Time Range to clear: drop-down, select Everything.
- Click the arrow next to Details to display the list of items that can be cleared.
- Select both Cookies and Cache.
- Click [Clear Now].
