When I click on a link and a new tab opens I am unable to scroll down with the mouse wheel, there is no sidebar. Plus my bookmarks don't appear. Any ideas appreciated.

Currently, there are two possible workarounds for the problem cor-el mentioned with private browsing windows:

(1) Turn tabbed browsing back on (Preferences > General/Tabs > "Open new windows in a new tab instead"), or

(2) Shift-click links that you want to open in a new window
