How would I export bookmarks without exporting all of them at once, just certain select bookmarks in firefox to another firefox on another computer?

I don't want to export all of my bookmarks at once and totally overwrite the ones on this other computer. I just want to update the other computer with some new book marks from the old computer. If I choose the backup option using the json file it totally overwrites everything when I load it on the new computer with the restore option. I want to be able to transfer bookmarks without overwriting everything. Just so the new ones get add into what is already there.

You can consider to use Sync to sync the bookmarks to the other computer.

As noted in your earlier thread (https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1081097):

  • Backup/Restore in JSON format is destructive, it replaces all existing bookmarks in the destination Firefox.
  • Export/Import in HTML format is additive and does NOT replace the existing bookmarks on the destination Firefox. Of course, that also causes duplicates.

There is no built-in way to do a partial export (or a partial backup). There might be an add-on with that feature. Otherwise, you can:

(1) Clean up the HTML file BEFORE importing it; (2) Clean up the destination Firefox AFTER importing it (if it's your own system); or (3) Use a separate Firefox profile or a different browser to create just the set of bookmarks that you want and export from there

All of those are a hassle, sorry.
