DO NOT OPEN IT ! ! ! ! Where did it come from ?

Mozilla has a news letter you can subscribe to. I just read mine. The header was about third party trackers.

Don't run that executable! It is not a legitimate Firefox patch. Mozilla doesn't send updates (parches) via email.

Sometimes a problem that seems like it is in Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Nor does Mozilla send patch updates by way of a .exe as Firefox is not just for Windows but also Mac OSX and Linux. Updates are done in Firefox or by download from www.mozilla.org/firefox/all
