Why does an options tab open when I open my home page?

For the past week or so when I open Firefox my home page loads and also on options tab. I've gone over all of the settings and nothing is wrong with the choices.

hi, please remove about:preferences from the homepage field in the firefox menu ≡ > options > general panel.
