Hello,

I am writing on behalf of a friend.

He has an old computer – Windows XP Service Pack 3, 4 GB RAM memory, etc. I installed Firefox version 44.0 on his computer that supports Windows XP. Then afterwards, when the error message below came up, I installed Firefox version 43 on his computer, in the hope that it might fix the problem. It didn't.

When he tries to watch some videos, an error message occurs. He can watch other videos without a problem. The error condition is:

“This video is either unavailable or not supported in this browser. Error code.Media_esc_src_not_supported. Technical details: No compatible source was found for this video”.

We confirmed that he has Windows Media Player and Adobe Flash Player for Windows XP Service Pack 3.

I use Mozilla Firefox on my Windows 7 laptop and I can view the videos without any problems that he is having trouble viewing.

Also, in the past, he used Internet Explorer to view the videos, and he had no problem viewing them.

Do you have any thoughts as to what the problem is?

Best wishes,

Edward

It appears possibly related to Brightcove Player:

Can you try Brightcove's solution here (uncheck hardware acceleration):

Dear Stephen,

My apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Thank you so much for the suggestion.

My friend is going to try Brightcove's solution.

I will post again if the solution works or not.

Again, thank you.

Best wishes,

Edward
