Add Security Exception: Dialogue box every time I go into Thunderbird - Will not go away even though I've removed AVG Antivirus from scanning e-mails.
Every time I click on my Drafts folder, or try to send a message, or sometimes in the middle of writing a message, I get a popup box that asks me to Add a Security Exception for mail.stpaulcoop.ca:143. When I click "Get Certificate", it informs me there is no information available, and everything greys out except for the Cancel button. Attached is a screenshot of the "View" button. I perused another thread that used Avast Antivirus and tried to have my AVG not scan e-mails, but this certification window continues to pop up.
Is there a simple solution I could try myself to get this e-mail system to work? I appreciate all the effort you guys put into helping us poor blokes out!

I checked out the stpaulscoop mail server here they appear to have a number of security issues, this is probably just by blow to those issues.
Their should be also an add exception button and you could use that to create an permanent exception should you be sure the certificate is actually them. When I forced their web site into an SSL mode, I got the following information.
The certificate is only valid for the following names: coopconnection.ca, *.coopconnection.ca
That certificate as far as I can see is owned by the parent group of the western provinces cooperatives, "federated co-operatives limited". I call it parent, but technically I think the coops own the parent as a buying group.
As there is no image on your post I have had to guess. But I think you will be fairly safe adding an exception if the certificate is for the parent group.
