I updated from Firefox 49.0.2 to 50.0 and Ad Blocker Ultimate no longer was enabled. I tried reinstalling it to no avail (2 or 3 times), so I uninstalled ver. 50.0 and reinstalled ver 49.0.2. I WILL NOT USE VER. 50.0 OR LATER UNTIL AD BLOCKER ULTIMATE IS ENABLED - PERIOD!!! I will quite using Firefox if I have to.

Please let me know when you have corrected this problem.

the-edmaister, Thanks for your note. Obviously I just don't understand why it's so difficult to do Firefox updates without making add-ons non-functional. It seems the burden is always on the add-on developers to rework their software. If that's the way it must be, so-be-it.

Yes, I did contact the AdBlocker Ultimate developer and make him aware of this problem. BTW they do have a support forum there.

Thanks, I'll just deal with it.

Hi

Add-ons are built and supported by a large community of independent developers.

I recommend you contact the developer of this add-on through their contact details at Mozilla Add-ons and they should be able to help you with this.

The vast majority of Extensions hosted at addons.mozilla.org are made by a third-party author or company. The ones made by Mozilla would have a author like Mozilla or Mozilla.Labs.

There are other more up to date Extensions like uBlock Origin and Adblock Plus.

I quit using Adblock Plus because it doesn't work nearly as well as Ad Blocker Ultimate. I like Ad Blocker Ultimate and see no reason to quit using it. Ublock??? I find it quite irritating that Mozilla insists on updating Firefox in a way that nullifies the work of many developers who support Firefox. THAT is just stupid! I repeat THAT is just stupid!

To the individuals who tried to help me, thanks.

What's silly is 3rd party developers who don't keep up with changes to Firefox and needlessly causes issues for their users after a Firefox update. Not like Firefox is developed in a vacuum; 6 weeks in Beta testing should allow them time to verify that their extension will continue to work properly in the upcoming Release version. Or even start earlier during the Developer Edition stage, which is made for "developers" to develop and test add-ons, or even the Nightly stage; each of which is typically 6 weeks, too.

Have you contacted them to make them aware of your problem? https://adblockultimate.net/contact.html

Sad that they don't offer a support forum for their add-on. To me that is a minimum qualifier for the extensions that I would consider installing.
