My address book has now got loads of e mail addresses for people I don't know. Firefox seems to add the address when I receive an e mail............ or it might be when I reply. I only want addresses in my book that I have chosen manually.

The latter. There's a setting in Options where this can be disabled. At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button > Options > Composition > Addressing

Hi

This does not sound like an issue with Firefox for Fire TV. So that we can hopefully find a solution for you, please can you confirm if you are using either Firefox for your desktop (or laptop) computer or are you using the Thunderbird email software?

Hi

No problem. I will move this question to the Thunderbird team so that the experts there can help.

Thank you. Apart from "options" being "preferences" this worked for me. I also found some other potentially useful things in the menu, that I hadn't thought to look for.

Since you are not a Windows user and most document are geared that way this article explains the menu differences between operating systems. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences_in_Windows,_Linux,_and_Mac

I've gone to the menu "options" and the check box for adding addresses was never checked, but my email STILL adds the address every time, so I have about 5 duplicates of every address! Isn't there a way to remove duplicates?

Thunderbird does not add addresses from Incoming mail to address books. There are add ons you can install to make that happen but by default it does not happen.

By default is does place addresses from Sent messages to the Collected Address Book. Use the above procedure to turn that off.

I want to stop Thunderbird from adding outgoing addresses to the address book and I understand that there is an option that will allow this. For some reason I cannot seem to find the option window or button. I am using TB52.7.0 How do I stop from adding addresses? Thanks
