Clicking on an IMAP folder instantly marks all messages as read

I have my folder list configured to show the unread count.

When I see that a folder has unread messages, and click on it, instantly T'bird marks it as all read. So suddenly there are no unread messages, and I can't tell what was new and read or reply to it.

This is a deal-breaker bug. It has been since approximately October.

Latest T'bird (52.6.0). OS: OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, x86-64.

Using a cordless mouse? Replace the battery! Tried without add-ons from the help menu?

Thanks for the suggestions!

Nope, wired mouse.

I can try without addons, though. I will report back...

Starting T'bird in Safe Mode makes no difference. I had 1 folder with 1 unread, 1 folder with 2. In both instances, clicking on the folder, the unread count was instantly zeroed. No messages showed as unread in the list.
