I have Thunderbird 52.7.0 (64-bit). I use a Mac (OS X El Capitan 10.11.6) I cannot update any account settings for any of my accounts. I can input changes to the account settings, but when I click "OK" nothing happens and I cannot navigate away from the dialogue box. The only way to get out is to press "cancel", which means the changes are not saved. What can be done?

It will be the one in your profile name folder. in Thunderbird Help > TRoubleshooting Information click on 'Open Folder'

Exit Thunderbird

there should be only one prefs.js file Right click on file and select 'Properties' Attributes: Is it 'read only' ? Read only should not be selected.
