Switch from POP to IMAP account, regards deletion of old POP account

more options

I have printed the instructions for switching from POP3 to IMAP. The last section is headed Delete your POP account. If I remove my old POP account per the instructions. Does this mean that I have deleted the old POP account and can no longer use my email address and have to create a new email address to use the IMAP, or will my old email address still work. I guess what I really want to know is will changing to IMAP require that I create a brand new email address because I changed to IMAP, or will the old email address still work even though I am now using IMAP instead of POP 3?

You posted in the Firefox support fora queue. Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.

If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail" such as Yahoo!Mail or Gmail. You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

If your problem is with Thunderbird, let us know and we can move this thread to the Thunderbird support queue.
