After the latest update for Firefox, my email notification sounds are not working for mail.aol.com. I have removed and reinstalled Flashplayer and even reset Firefox, but still having the issue. Sounds on other sites work just fine. It only seems to be with the AOL webmail site. I have had this issue before after an update and I thought it was Flashplayer that had caused the problem.

It could just be your sound card drivers are not being found by Firefox when it calls for them.

Can look for a update for your sound card drivers. or try a Clean install : Please uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.0 with a Full Version Installer

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

If this were a problem with the sound card, it would affect multiple applications and sound files. The issue is ONLY with the mail.aol.com site/application

No, sorry that is incorrect. A person here last week had issues with one site and it was with a after market sound card itself that worked every where and this help want on for a week. So no, righting off my suggestion out of hand with out investigating and trouble shooting your own system is not the way to go. Start with the root of the issue sound, card, sound drivers, OS then Firefox.
