If I have 2 email accounts in Thunderbird, can I associate a particular address book with one of the accounts?

2 separate address books, 2 separate email accounts. Can I keep them separated by associating only one address book with one of the accounts?

It depends on what you mean by 'associating an address book with an account'. Address books are defined per profile, so in practice all address books are accessible to all accounts in the profile. You could define separate profiles for the accounts, but lose the ability to view the accounts together. There is an add-on that allows you to define which address books are searched by the autocomplete process when you address a message from a particular account, i.e. address books A, B and C are searched for matches when sending from account X, and address books D, E and F are searched for matches when sending from account Y.
