It's not only Dropbox but other cloud services like mega, pcloud, Box, Google drive, etc. And what's the error? The error is following, When one adds Dropbox to Thunderbird 52 using file link, The option set up an account is greyed out. And is not clickable. But in Thunderbird help documentation, it was shown clickable. Please help asap. Thanks.

How about updating to the release version. That is 60.

So you have a choice. No thunderbrowse, or no filelink.

Given the author states it works with Works with Thunderbird 1.5 - 3.0a1 and it has caused all sorts of trouble for folks in the versions after 3 because it has not been updated over the years the choice is clear.

Have you considered that is might be one of your add-ons, even Thunderbrowse that is causing the problem. I see it works in Safe mode. So it almost certainly is one of them.

Just update to the latest version and test it. There is a reason we do not support old versions. That is because even if extensive testing does find an issue, it will not be fixed. Even if the defect were to be found to continue into the current version, the fix would not be back ported to an old version.
