are the themes supposed to show at the top of every tab page, or just at the top of the Firefox home-page?
Simple straightforward question:- is the chosen "Theme" supposed to appear on all tabs/pages or only on the Firefox home-page? And should the theme stay enabled until I decide otherwise? Since the recent "expired certificate" error that disabled add-ons etc, when I choose a theme it appears at the top of the page....but when I open another tab it doesn't appear. Then when I go back to the original page the theme is gone from there also...yet it shows as still enabled (only offers "disable" or "remove") on my themes page!! I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox but the problem persists.

A lightweight theme will only cover the Firefox user interface. For styling a web page with a theme you would need to use an extension.

cor-el....thanks a million for your help...it was the extension "Colorful Tabs" which apparently was the problem. Now the Firefox theme that I choose stays at the top of the pages of each tab that I open...that was what I meant in my question. I know that the themes only show at the top of the page/toolbar/tabs and that was what was not happening since the recent "unsigned certificate" problem. The strange thing is that I had this extension enabled before and there was no problem....at least I don't recall seeing it. I had tried reinstalling Firefox and refreshing Firefox but that didn't work. So once again, thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
