As I said, firefox determined it was opening slow and wanted to restart so I let it and it wiped everything out. I went to the folder on my desktop it created that says old firefox data and all the bookmark backups are there. I tried many times to restore a bunch of them and get the error message unable to process the back up file

error message unable to process the back up file

Hello killroy321,

This may be caused by problems with the places.sqlite database in your profile folder.

Would you do this please :

Type in the address bar about:support and press Enter. Scroll all the way down to "Places Database" => Integrity, and click "Verify Integrity".

If that doesn't help, then on the "about:support" page scroll down to "Profile Folder" and click on "Open Folder".

With Firefox closed remove any places.sqlite files in your profile folder (with Firefox closed).

Any luck ?
