Hello! i am using Thunderbird 68.5.0 I was just forced to migrate to 365 by my organisations (i use IMAP) When i delete an email with the delete key, the email is properly deleted, but also the next email down the line disappears from Thunderbird. However the email is still on the server. This is not manageable, as emails basically disappear and it is impossible to keep track. Many thanks tommaso

try changing the setting in account settings > Server settings for deleted mail from move it to the trash (it should be "Deleted Items" on an exchange server even using IMAP.

If that does not cut it, try changing the setting to Just mark it as deleted. Turn on expunge inbox on exit.

That will strike through deleted mail instead of hiding it and the expunge will clean up server side as well when you exit Thunderbird so deleted mail is actually removed.

Do not turn You computer off for a minute of two after you exit Thunderbird as Thunderbird will still be running without any windows to display for a time to do the expunge.
