Beta 76.0 updated 04.16.20 Thunderbird connects to internet and says connected but will not connect to mail server and download messages (normally prompts for password, not with this update). mail server password is not saved to Thunderbird.

It is poosible to send but this IS prompted for password.

Frustrating as this happened with version 74.02 but rectified with version 75.03. Probably need to wait for 77!

What are your incoming and outgoing server settings? AV/security program?

POP3 and SMTP, Avast basic. I prefer to store mail at home. I mostly access from IPhone and download/clear message base from server with Thunderbird weekly.

Normally at the start of a session I am prompted for the server password, I do not save to and on checking the password store is empty. When I go to post from the account I am prompted for the password to the SMTP server.
