Note: I dont intend to create any account or link to any email accounts.

I just intend to copy all the files and point the local folder path to that folder and open in Thunderbird. The files I renamed the ext as eml.

These are the things that I have tried.

1. Installed thunderbird. Created a fake account xx@example.com. In server settings , Account Settings: Local folders Message Store Type: File per folder (per mbox), I tried changed this to Maildir but it is greyed out

I can't open it in thunderbird.

I can double click each eml file and open, thunderbird shows the email message. However, I can't save the email attachment.
