I have transferred by Thunderbird profile to my alternate PC in the past, but this time I goofed. I wonder if you can help.

I copied this folder from my main PC while TBird was closed. C:\Users\Elliott\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xm77vp65.default

On my alternate PC, I deleted it *******.default profile folder and replaced it with the one from my old PC. TBird would not open. I looked for help and when to the %appdata% folder and deleted Thunderbird. Now TBird opened but wanted me to set up my accounts. I canceled out.

I then tried copying over the folder from my main PC but this time put it IN the folder labeled ******.default instead, i.e. I copied it one level lower so the profile name on the alternate PC remained.

Still when I open TBird it wants me to see up all my email accounts and passwords again. How do I start over with the copying process so I can avoid all that work? Thank you.

Chosen solution

Sorry to trouble you. Got it resolved. I found another set of instructions, including a video and copied from 3 levels up so that I took the Thunderbird folder, that contains Profiles, from within Roaming. All good. Thank you anyway.
