I have a HP MFP M28-M31 Scanner printer and can't get HP to recognise that Thunderbird is my default email client. If I scan something to for example pdf email the scan goes ok but if I click on email link it says no email client is connected. I have checked Windows 10 and it says standard setting for email is Thunderbird. I can see that Thunderbird is 64 bit and HP has installed in 32 bit. Is there something I can do to fix the problem?

Remove TB 64 bit and install TB 32 bit.

Will I have to reinstall the email accounts?

Uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't affect your data in the separate profile folder, but you must install the same version. So, if the current TB is 78.x.x, install 32-bit 78.x.x.
