when I maximize the window I can see the Subject column.

Try the method given in the 3rd 'See also' list on the right side of this page.

Do you mean the ones on the far left SF? None of those have the Subject column?

If none of your folders have the Subject column, you can't apply a correct layout to the faulty folders.

See if the column appears in safe/troubleshoot mode (hold Shift when launching TB).

Nope, and none of the other folders in Safe mode darn it. Restarting computer doesn't help either.

Are there any other ideas / solutions I could try? Might I need to reinstall?

Hi! I have the same thing happen as what you describe (it shows in the full size window and disappears in a smaller window). For me it can be fixed by using the cursor to "drag" an invisible separator to the right. It won't stay that way, and you'll have to do it over again every time you make the window smaller, but it seems the column is still there, just too narrow to see.

Editing to add: If your columns are in the "default" column order, the invisible separator is in between the "read/unread" icon and the attachment icon.

Good to know it's not just me but I'd like a solution for this, Good Grief! :-)

It's a non-permanent solution. Sorry about that. It's really annoying, but I usually just work around being unable to see the subjects.  :-/

@JoeFromSD Laughing because I think that's the same thing I suggested you do. I'm glad you've got things working again.
