Thunderbird is blocking my *.jpg, *.png attachments on emails. Any other type file, e.g., *.pdf, *.doc goes out without any problem. But when I try to send a picture, I get the message, "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Message has been rejected due to suspected spam content.. Please check the message and try again." I have checked with the mail server and they tell me it must be infected files if they are the ones being stopped and not any other type files. This happens whether I use Thunderbird on my iPhone or laptop. I have scanned all the folders and they come up clean.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this problem?

This sounds like the brain dead support you get from incumbent internet service providers help lines that really have no knowledge or training in email, or information Technology really. Just script readers. The provider will be the ones blocking your mail, especially if it is occurring when you click send, they will have implemented some sort of image spam filter that you are falling foul of and apparently they are in denial about it having false positives.

Is there text in your messages? or are they just or predominantly just an image? See https://organicweb.com.au/marketing/image-spam/ and https://www.duett.co/blog/how-to-use-images-in-your-email particularly the advice about using ALT text with images.

Thanks Matt, I tried adding some text. Just a hundred characters or so with no change. I agree with your assessment. It is weird that after 19 years with the same provider this blocking of images has started. I'll try another with more text and see how it goes.
