Thunderbird: Configurable "Save as" *.eml default filename format (without an addon)

more options

For some time now already, Thunderbird is forcing us to use a very unwanted feature - appending unnecessary text to the *.EML filenames, when e-mails are being saved to disk via "Save As". See the attached image.

A decades old default has been removed and it is not possible to turn this feature off or set a different default. Please do not suggest add-ons. This should be configurable by default, without introducing any need for (potentially insecure) add-ons.

So, even if turned on by default, can you add an option to turn it off? It should not be hard (+1 "if" statement somewhere in the code). Can you make it optional? (A parameter somewhere in the Config Editor would be great!)

Please?

A screenshot attached - the desired (can be optional) default.

A simple "SUBJECT.eml" filename.

That's it.

Please.

Thank you in advance!
