What is the name of the Plugin?

If it is a NPAPI type of Plugin like Silverlight, Adobe Acrobat, Java and Flash Player Plugins were, then NPAPI Plugins have not been allowed to run in Firefox for some time now. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/npapi-plugins

If it works in IE then it may be using ActiveX, something proprietary that only the old IE web browser supports.
