When running multiple profiles of FF an error occurs when launching files from and application such as NetBeans and Dreamweaver. Launching the page opens the profile manager but and won't let me select one of the currently used profiles to view the page in.

You need to start one profile Firefox instance() without the -no-remote command line switch if you want to open a link from other programs in Firefox. No-remote makes that Firefox instance invisible and each link would require a separate profile.

thanks, that seems to have worked. My shortcut's target reads .... -p "ff instance name", and files now open in that instance.
