I have uninstalled Firefox to no avail the same issue remains.

Running Win7 home and the proggy is pinned to the taskbar.

Double click on it and it opens another window behind the taskbar icon, bring the window up as a miniture on the desktop, double click on it and it expands and vanishes off to the right in the space of a tenth of a second.

I did a complete system scan last night and found nothing. I used Malwarebytes.

Not sure if this will work, but this may be caused by a problem with a file in the profile folder, localstore.rdf. Try the procedure in this site - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Corrupt_localstore.rdf
