Every time I hover over a live link an annoying pop up in the corner of my screen containing the URL pops up. This is worse than a pop up ad because as I scroll through a forum or a document the constant flicker literally gives me a headache.

You can use this add-on to change this behavior back to how it was in Firefox 3.6: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

Thanks to you both. That worked. It's a shame the an add on is required for something that should be a simple user option.
