I was able to save most all of my HD to another HD. After clearing and then reloading XP and the FF 4, I have tried several ways without success to copy over my default folder from what I saved. I have now reloaded FF3.6 which is waht I had before the crash. How do I get back my bookmarks, bookmark toolbar and RSS feeds any other items I had?

This reply suggests there is no single step such as repointing FF to the older files/profile or copying the old default file into the location for the current default file. The suggested remedy suggests I know which are the important items to "copy" (if that is what the procedure will entail) whereas I wanted everything. I was hoping for a better solution. But I will read the instructions in more detail.

I tried the solution and tried to move my old bookmarks - I got nothing. The old file for (I forgot the name sqlite or something) had 0 bytes. There are several bookmarsk files in the old profile including one that looks like a backup and one of them has 178 bytes in it.

I tried something that worked for Thunderbird. BUT it did not work for my Firefox. I reinstalled FIREFOX and let it create a default profile folder. I deleted everything in that folder and then copied everything over from my old profile folder. In this case FIREFOX ran, but the bookmarks and the bookmark toolbar and the RSS did not show up, so I'm still unable to get this to work. HELP
