I have recently upgraded to Firefox 5 Hotmail will not work anymore, what do I do ??

I get the hotmail login screen, then after putting in email and password, it comes up wiyth Opening default.aspx then open with or save file. Whatever I do with this it never lets me into my email. I never had this trouble with the previous version of firefox. IE works ok. This is really annpying. Please help me !! thanks.

I have no trouble with Hotmail. I always get into it with a bookmark.

Tools > Options > Privacy > Show Cookies

Try deleting your hotmail.com and livemail.com cookies.

If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extension) like Adblock Plus or NoScript or Flash Block that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.


Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Oh dear. None of this works. Strange thing is I just made a new @hotmail.co.uk account, and it workswith Firefox 5. So why has my old account given up????
